The Danish Coastal Authority

The Danish Coastal Authority (Kystdirektoratet) is the official coastal and port government agency - a division of the Danish Ministry of Transport.
The coastal authority headquarters are located in Lemvig in Western Jutland. The coastal authority is an independent authority covering all of Denmark’s 7,300 km coastline. The Danish Coastal Authority employs some 110 individuals.
The Danish Coastal Authority manages the governmental interests of ports and the socio-economic interests within the field of coastal protection. Regulatory tasks concerning coastal protection, ports and the state territorial waters are carried out by the means of analyses, project planning, construction, operation, and warning and done in broad-based cooperation with many different parties all over Denmark.
The Danish Coastal Authority is the official coastal and port government agency and adviser for the Danish Minister for Transport.
